Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between internet addiction disorder of the students of vocational colleges and family environmental factors for providing a theoretical support for early intervention to decrease IAD.Methods A total of 775 vocational college students from the first and second grades of the two vocational colleges in Xi'an were surveyed with the questionnaire about students online and the related factors, the questionnaire on IAD(IAD-DQ) and Egma Minnen av Bardndosnauppforstran(EMBU).Results The rate of IAD among the vocational college students was 9.16%.Logistic regression analysis showed that single-parent(OR95%CI 1.64-11.29),higher income of the family per month(OR95%CI 1.06-5.72),inappropriate parental rearing style(OR95%CI 1.23-8.47) were risk factors. The scales of parental rearing style factors, except father's over-interference and over-protection,were statistical significance between IAD and non-IAD students(P0.01).The score of father's emotional warmth and understanding of IAD students was lower than that of non-IAD students while the scores of father's severe punishment and rejection of IAD students were higher than that of non-IAD students. The score of mother's emotional warmth and understanding of IAD students was lower than that of non-IAD students. The scores of mother's over-interference and over-protection,rejection and severe punishment of IAD students were hig her than that of non-IAD students. Conclusion The students from single parent, higher income, inappropriate parental rearing style families are more susceptible to IAD.
