Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of cigarette smoking on human sperm parameters,sperm morphology and sperm DNA integrity. Methods: The cigarette smoking status of 210 patients with male infertility were investigated,the sperm density,vitality and sperm morphology were detected by computer assisted sperm analysis,the sperm DNA integrity were detected by sperm chromatin dispersion test( SCD). Results: There was a significant difference in the sperm density,vitality,sperm morphology and sperm DNA integrity between cigarette smokers and nonsmokers. Conclusion: Cigarette Smoking affects the sperm density,vitality,sperm morphology and sperm DNA integrity,and thus to be one reason of male infertility.
