Abstract
A software has been developed to predict the characteristics of disk-type traveling wave ultrasonic motor based on the latest research results of the electro-mechanical modeling of the piezo-metal composite vibrator and rotor-stator contact mechanism. The software can also estimate and evaluate the dynamic characteristics of the ultrasonic motor using the dynamic-index system and variable-parameters analysis method proposed in this paper for the optimal design purpose. Some fundamental principles and a prototype are given on how to do the optimal design of the ultrasonic motor.
