Abstract
Objective:To explore the prevention of mechanical injury in children with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Methods:A total of 68 cases of acute respiratory distress syndrome children that admitted to our hospital during January 2009 and January 2011 were divided randomly into trial group and control group, the control group was given conventional mechanical ventilation while the observation group was given lung protective mechanical ventilation strategy. The set machine parameters, complications, mortality, and length of mechanical ventilation consuming time were observed and compared between the two groups. Results:The observation group showed significant better machine parameters, and lower incidence of mechanical injury and intraventricular hemorrhage, but no significant difference in the length of mechanical ventilation consuming time was found. Conclusions:Lung protective mechanical ventilation strategy can be reference method for treating children with acute respiratory distress syndrome since it can reduce the incidence of the mechanical ventilation correlated lung injury.
