Abstract
Objective To evaluate the relationship between sperm motility parameters and sperm morphology and its clinical value. Methods The sperm kinesis parameters of 290 cases were analyzed by the WLJY-9000 color semen analysis system;the morphology of sperm was detected by using Diff-Quik staining assay, the sperm were classified according to strict criteria and the percentage of normal sperm morphology were calculated. Results There were 108 cases of normal sperm motility(a grade≥25% or a+b grade≥50% as standard),accounting for 37.2%,and normal sperm morphology rate was(42.7±13.6)%.There were 182 cases of poor sperm motility, accounting for 62.8%,and normal sperm morphology rate was(19.2±0.9)%,there was a significant difference compared between these two groups(P0.01).There were 195 cases of normal sperm morphology, accounting for 67.2%,and 95 cases of abnormal sperm morphology, accounting for 32.8%.The VCL,VSL,MAD,LIN,STR in normal sperm morphology group were different with that in abnormal morphology group. Conclusion Poor sperm motility was always accompanied by abnormal sperm morphology, combination of semen and sperm morphological analysis will contribute to improve the diagnostic rate of male infertility and to choose the right assisted reproductive methods for infertility patients.
