Abstract
The Shangshe Lake wetland nature reserve in Wuhan City,a typical flood plain swamp wetland of fresh water lake,the total area of which covers 4 148 hm2,falls into wetland ecosystem of continuous shallow lake and meadow marsh. The wetland nature reserve houses 581 species of vascular plants,29 species of zoobenthos and 74 fish species,23 species of wetland beasts;111 species of wetland bird. The major issues indicate that the ecosystem of water area is under artificial obstruction,hydrophyte diversity declines,and subsistence of wildlife is under disturbance. The suggestion of functional area partition is put forth based on the survey of the present situation of the wetland.
