Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effects of applying simple standardized patient( SSP) in new nurses pre-job training. Methods A training team was set up,and the pre-job training content was turned into 8 case scenarios. Ten retired nurses were trained to acted as simple standardized patients, who played roles of evaluators and instructors in the training process. Results Nurses showed high satisfaction with the training. Their performance in theory and skills test as well as critical thinking were improved( P 0. 01 or P 0. 05). Conclusion Applying simple standardized patients in new nurses pre-job training is a new and effective way to improve training effects and worth being extended.
