Abstract
Benzyl Benzoate was directly synthesized from benzyl chloride and sodium benzoate under the condition of microwave irradiation and phase transfer catalyst without any organic solvent and inorganic carrier. The optimum conditions was as follow the microwave power 350W, the irradiation time 3min, TBAB as the phase transfer catalyst, the mole ratio of sodium benzoate to benzyl chloride 1.0∶1.6 and sodium benzoate to TBAB 25.0∶1.3, the yield is up to 98.9%.
