Abstract

Objective To investigate the role of monocyte chemotactic protein-1(MCP-1) in the pathogenesis of acute hemorrhagic necrotizing pancreatitis(AHNP).Methods AHNP model was induced by retrograde infusion of 5% sodium taurocholate into the bili-pancreatic duct in SD rats.Forty eight SD rats were randomly divided into two groups: sodium taurocholate group and operational control group.Expression of MCP-1 mRNA were detected by semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) at various time point in each group, respectively. Results No significant difference was found between sodium taurocholate group and the operational control group at 1,3 hours after operation.Expression of MCP-1 in sodium taurocholate group at the 6th and 12th hour after operation was significantly higher than that in the operational control group(P0.05).Expression of MCP-1 was gradually up-regulated and correlated with the histological score of pancreas. Conclusion MCP-1 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of AHNP and in the pathogenesis of acute lung injury during AHNP.
