Assessment of Land Consolidation Patterns in Rural Residential Areas in Henan Province

This paper explores and summarizes the patterns of land consolidation in rural residential areas in Henan Province by means of survey analysis,data analysis,comprehensive analysis and case study,concluding that(1) the distributing of rural residential areas is characterized by the striking geographic variation,homestead being the subject of rural residential land;(2) disadvantages such as land resource waste,delayed planning and disordered layout in rural residential land in the province;(3) the present land consolidation in rural residential areas in the province can be classified as four patterns,i.e.,patterns of ablepersons leading at early stage,policy promoting,economic development driving and economic development needs.Therefore, selecting appropriate pattern of land consolidation in rural residential areas can bring positive economic,ecological and social benefits for local development according to different economic and social conditions.
