Analysis on the Practical Factors Influencing the Consolidation of Rural Residential Land in Shanxi Province

The purpose of this paper is to explore the feasibility of land consolidation in rural residential areas in Shanxi Province based on analysis of the influential factors.The results indicate:(1)in terms of the structures and utilizations of the current buildings,the potentiality of land consolidation in rural residential area in Shanxi Province is from 6.2% to 8.0%;(2)in terms of current rural population migration,there is significant potentiality of land consolidation in rural residential area in Shanxi Province,the overall rate of the whole province is above 20%;(3)in terms of the different condition in rural residential areas before and after the migration of rural population,the increase amount of farmland and constructions land through land consolidation is reduced;(4)the relocation of entire village and rebuilding of the brownfield are two the main methods for land consolidation in rural residential area in terms of different circumstances;(5)land consolidation in rural residential area needs financial supports from the governments;(6)Small and bottom-level oriented projects are suitable for the management of consolidation in scattered and small scale rural residential areas.It is concluded that there are significant potentialities of land consolidation in rural residential area in Shanxi Province,among which the basin areas could take the prior position to implementation,and the brownfield consolidation and rebuild within the areas is a suitable starting point.
