Abstract

Objective: To study the changes of apoptosis following Ad-HIF-1α-injected after the traumatic brain injury. Methods: A free-failing body device was used to produce traumatic brain injury. The expression of HIF-1αand Bcl-2 and Bax was detected with immunohistomistry method at different time points following traumatic brain injury. Results: The expression of Bcl-2 had decreased significantly, the expression of Bcl-2 was decteased significantly and the rate of apoptosis decreased in different time in Ad-HIF-1αgroup. Conclusions: Ad-HIF-1α-injected after traumatic brain injury can upregulate the expression of Bcl-2 and downregulate that of Bax to reduce cell death.
