Abstract

The optimum medium for mycelial growth of Alternaria sonali in vitro was PDA, PSA. The mycelia could grow under the conditions of pH 2-12, and the optimum pH for mycelia growth was 6.0-80. The hyphae could grow and the conidial could germinate in 5-35℃, and the optimum temperature was in the range of 25-30℃. The lethal temperature of the conidia was 50℃ for ten minutes. The pathogen could use many carbohydrates and nitrogen sources, but the optimum carbon sources were glucose, sucrose and mannose, and the optimum nitrogen sources were tyrosine, glysine and asparaginate, respectively. The fungus hardly sporulated little on the tested media, but sporulated much on the tomato juice medium induced by ultraviolet radiation.
