Abstract

For the fact that chemical composition in the production solution of activated manganese dioxide is complicated, the coexisting components interfere in the determination of sodium chlorate when using the common method for the analysis of pure sodium chlorate. Therefore the measures to eliminate the interference by coexisting components and optimal conditions of determination were studied.A new method for the determination of sodium chlorate in the production solution of activated manganese dioxide by titation with patassium chromate after separation of manganese dioxide precipitation was developed. The method could be used for monitoring production. The average recovery of NaClO 3 was in the range of 99.5%-100.5%.The relative standard deviation was 0.33%.
