Abstract
OBJECTIVE To identify epidemiological characteristic of obesity prevalence and its influence factors among residents in Shandong,and to provide evidences for intervention.METHODS Subjects were selected by using multi-stage stratified randomized samplings.Questionnaire interview and medical examination were performed for all participants.Data was analyzed by software of SPSS 13.0.RESULTS A total of 3 839 subjects were included with 1 782 men and 2 057 women.The prevalence of overweight,obesity and central obesity was 34.54%,16.33% and 49.20%,respectively.Standardized prevalence of overweight,obesity and central obesity was 30.96%,14.02% and 42.75%,respectively.Prevalence of overweight,obesity and central obesity differed greatly from different age,education,occupation and habitation among residents.CONCLUSION The prevalence of overweight,obesity and central obesity was high.It is necessary to enhance policy and measurements for controlling obesity.
