Abstract
Acrylamide-starch flocculant was synthesized using starch and acrylamide in ionic liquid Cl by graft copolymerization. The difference between the state of starch dispersed in ionic liquid and water was investigated.FT-IR spectra confirmed the graft copolymerization of acrylamide and starch. The effects of mass ratio of acrylamide to starch, initiator mass, temperature, and time on the graft copolymerization reaction were investigated. The flocculability of the product synthesized in ionic liquid was compared with that of the product synthesized in water solution using Kaolin suspension.
