Utilization of Antibiotic Drugs in Emergency Department of Our Hospital

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the utilization of antibiotic drugs in the emergency department of our hospital including the rationality of drug use so as to improve the rational use level of these drugs.METHODS: 9 412 prescriptions sampled from the emergency department of our hospital were analyzed regarding the utilization data and drug use rationality of antibiotic drugs.RESULTS: Of the total 9 412 prescriptions,5 550(58.9%) were antibiotic prescriptions,of which,5 172(92.83%) were single use,398(7.17%) were combined use of two,but none was found to be combined use of more than two antibiotics.CONCLUSION: The use of antibiotic drugs in the emergency department of our hospital is far from perfect,it is suggested that the rational use and standardized administration of antibiotic drugs be strengthened to promote the rational drug use level.
