Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the use of antibacterials in the outpatient emergency department of our hospital in response to the regulatory action on antibiotics in order to promote the level of rational use of antimicrobial drugs.METHODS: The outpatient emergency prescriptions during 2010-2011 period in our hospital were randomly collected for statistical analysis using descriptive statistics, and an evaluation of which were performed with management method, hospital prescription comment management norms, drug instruction and related literature taken as references.RESULTS: A total of 51 728 prescriptions were collected, with 24 318 in 2010 and 27 410 in 2011;antibacterial drugs were prescribed in 17 121(33.10%),with 8 864(36.45%) in 2010 and 8 257(30.12%) in 2011.In terms of administration frequency,Cephalosporins took the lead followed by macrolide.12 538 prescriptions prescribed one drug,3 117 two drugs and 1 466 three drugs.Irrational antibiotic prescriptions totaled 1 595(9.32%).The irrational antibiotic use manifested as improper in dosage and administration, choice of antibiotics and drug combination etc.CONCLUSION: The clinical use of antibacterial drugs in the outpatient emergency department in our hospital was basically rational yet it is far from perfect, thus strengthened management is still needed to improve the level of clinical application of antibiotics.
