Abstract

The thesis focuses on the motor speed design of a system based on FPGA.In the design, the time base signal is produced by the active crystal, and speed signal is transformed into a frequency signal through Omron photoelectric encoder E6C2-CWZ6C360P/R.Then,the measured value is shown via digital control dynamic display. The FPGA module is edited with Software Quartus II produced by Altera's,and the chip model is EP2C5T144C8N.The FPGA module is written using VHDL language, simulates with a software that comes with Quartus II and then the correctness of the module is verified by observing the simulation wave. This design can achieve small values of the square wave frequency and motor speed measurement. The differences of numerous experimental results are smaller and dynamic measurement can be achieved. The design is feasible as it is used to measure motor speed. Thus, the design is supposed to satisfy the desired requirements.
