Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of combined treatment of traditional Chinese and western medicine on diabetic nephropathy. Methods 200 patients with diabetic nephropathy were randomly divided into two groups. 100 patients in treatment group were treated by Ketangyishen capsule combined with western medicines; the other 100 patients in control group were treated only by western medicine, with a treatment course of 3 months for both groups. The 24h quantity of urinary protein, blood glucose and blood fat were observed before and after treatment in both groups. Results The total effective rates in treatment group and control group were 97.0% and 72.0% respectively. The clinical symptoms were improved in treatment group, and there was a significant difference in 24h quantity of urinary protein before and after treatment ( P 0.01 ),however, there was no significant difference in 24h quantity of urinary protein before and after treatment in control group ( P 0.05).There was a significant difference in 24h quantity of urinary protein after treatment between two groups( P 0.01). In treatment group there were significant differences in fasting blood glucose, the blood glucose 2 hours after meal, triglyceride and cholesterol before and after treatment ( P 0.01). Conclusion The combination of traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine is effective in treating diabetic nephropathy.
