An Empirical Research on the Intra-industry Trade of Textile and Apparel Industry in China in the Post-quota Era

To further understand the intra-industry trade(IIT)of textile and apparel(TA) industry in China,this paper examines the level and structure of intra-industry trade of textile and clothing industry in China.The results indicate that the common level of intra-industry trade in China′s TA industry is very low,the development of intra-industry trade is very slow,and the pattern of trade mainly belongs to inter-industry trade.In addition,for some TA products,VIIT is the main type,which indicates that the level of intr-industry trade needs to be further improved.Finally it gives some competitiveness-fostering suggestions for the development of China′s TA intra-industry trade.
