Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effect of severe traumatic brain injury with application of modified large bone flap decompression. Methods 87 patients with severe traumatic brain injury who were admitted in Neurosurgery Department of our hospital from January 2012 to January 2014 were chosen as the research object. Their clinical data was given retrospective analysis. They were divided into the control group and observation group according to the way of treatment. 42 patients in the control group were cured with application of regular large bone flap decompression while 45 patients in the observation group were treated by modified large bone flap decompression. The clinical effect of two groups was compared and analyzed. Results The total excellent rate of the observation group was 64.4%, which was remarkably higher than 31.0% of the control group. The difference between them was statistically significant(P 0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 15.6%, which was lower than 33.3% of the control group. The difference had statistical significance(P 0.05). Conclusion The effect of modified large bone flap decompression for the patients with severe traumatic brain injury is remarkable. It can reduce the incidence of complications and the pain of the patients, so it is worth popularizing
