The Foundation of Naturalism in Wei-Jin Literature——The Fundation of "Zi-ran"Literary Theory in Wei-Jin Dynasty

Abstract

The literary theory of Naturalism is first discussed in the book Huai-nan zi in the Han Dynasty,but a systematic research has not been carried out until the appearance of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature(Weixindiaolong), a masterpiece by Liu Xie,in the Wei-Jin Dynasty.Based on the law of Nature,Liu Xie analyzes the dialectical relations between Wen(Literature) and Zhi(Reality) in the creation and interpretation of literary works.In addition,he explores a series of important topics and founds a systematic theory of Law of Nature in Literature(Wen Dao Zi Ran).
