Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical effects of interventional therapy for the treatment of the early stage of avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Methods 28 patients(total 28 hips)were performed Seldinger's technique with super-selection and perfusion method, and then dissolving and vasodilator drugs were perfused via circumflex internal and external femoral arteries. Results After interventional therapy, the number of blood vessels increased obviously and the clinical symptoms of pain and functional disorder of hip joint improved greatly with relief or disappearance. The total effective rate was about 89.3%(25/28)after 1~2 years of follow-up.Conclusion The intravascular interventional theapy can significantly improve local arteries supplying of the femoral head at the early stage of avascular necrosis, relieve the painful symptoms and improve the function of the involved hip joints.
