Abstract
The aberrant effects of ultraviolet rays were studied by using garlic root tip cells. The results showed that ultraviolet rays could cause aberration in chromosomal structure. There were micronucleus, multinucleus, and bridge, chromosome fragment, chromosome sticking. When garlic root tip cells were treated with ultraviolet rays for 25 min, various type of chromosome aberration could be observed and the frequencies of chromosome aberration were always higher than that of the control group.
