Abstract
AIM To study the antitumor mechanism of curcumin. METHODS In vivo, the effects of curcumin on neovascularization was observed by chorioallantoic membrane(CAM) test. The effects of curcumin on inducing apoptosis of SMMC-7721 cells were also observed with electron microscope and flow cytometer. RESULTS Curcumin strongly inhibited the angiogenesis in the chick chorioallantoic membrane. Curcumin of 20 μmol·L -1 induced apoptosis of SMMC-7721 cells. CONCLUSION Curcumin has the effects of antiangiogenesis and induction of apoptosis of SMMC-7721.
