Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions about traditional Chinese medicine treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods Fifty-eight cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia patients under treatment were divided into control group(n=25) and the Chinese medicine intervention group(n=33).Before and after treatment, some clinical indicators in these two groups were compared. Results After treatment,IPSS score, residual urine volume and prostate volume were significantly decreased, and maximum flow rate increased significantly(P0.05 or P0.01).After treatment, clinical symptoms improvement was more obvious in group B compared with group A,IPSS score, residual urine volume, prostate volume decreased significantly(P0.01),and maximum urinary flow rate increased significantly(P0.01).The incidence of adverse reactions in intervention group was significantly lower than the control group. Conclusion Intervention with traditional Chinese medicine for benign prostatic hyperplasia has clinical efficacy and proves to be safe and reliable.
