Abstract

Objective To compare the efficacy and side effects of aroxetine and maprotiline in the treatment of post-stroke depression. Methods Total 68patients with post-stroke depression were randomly divided into paroxetine group and maprotiline group for 8 weeks, clinical efficacies were assessed with Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) before treatment and the ends of 2、4、6、8 week treatment, noted the side effect at the same time. Results Total 5patients were missing. The scores of HAMD、HAMA reduced significantly after treatment in both groups(P0.05),No significant difference was found between paroxetine group and maprotiline group(P0.05).The effective rate of paroxetine group and maprotiline group were 84.38% and 87.10%,there were no significant difference(P0.05).The side effects of paroxetine group was less significantly than that in maprotiline group in dysuria、somnolence、thirst and constipation(P0.05).Conclusion Paroxetine was an effective drug in the treatment of post-stroke depression like maprotiline, and the side effect was less than maprotiline.
