Abstract
Purpose To evaluate left ventricular(LV)diastolic function in old patients with hypertention by using quantitative tissue velocity imaging. Methods In 22 old patients with hypertention and 20 old healthy people with similar age and heart rate,we analyzed left ventricular regional wall motion velocity, and the peak velocity of LV regional myocardium during early diastole(Ve),atrial contraction(Va)and Ve/Va ratio with quantitative tissue velocity imaging. Results Compared with old healthy people, old patients with hypertention showed lower diastolic function, lower Ve(early diastolic)of anterior wall, post wall and inferior wall(P0.01,P0.05)and Va(late diastolic)of post interventricular septum and posterior wall and inferior wall(P0.05)in level of mitral valve, and lower Ve and Va of post interventricualr septum and posterior wall in level of papillary muscle(P0.05),the Ve/Va ratio was not significantly different between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion QTVI is a rapid, comprehensive, and valuable method to quantitatively assess LV regional diastolic function, but it can not determined regional diastolic function in old patients with hypertention to only based Ve/Va ratio.
