Clinical Study on Reduced Glutathione in Treatment of Tsutsugamushi Disease Complicated with Toxic Hepatitis

[Objective]To study the therapeutic effects of reduced glutathione combined with anti-infection therapy in treatment of tsutsugamusshi disease complicated with toxic hepatitis.[Methods]32 patients with tsutsugamusshi disease complicated with toxic hepatitis were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group.The treatment group(17 cases) received reduced glutathione injection on the basis of anti-infection therapy and diammonium glycyrrhizinate injection which can protect liver and decrease enzyme.The control group(15 cases) was given anti-infection therapy and diammonium glycyrrhizinate injection.The duration of therapy was 2 weeks in both groups.[Results]The symptoms of the treatment group patients disappeared or improved obviously with extra reduced glutathione injection.The total effective rate of the treatment group was 88.2%,and that of the control group was 66.7%.All indexes of liver function in the treatment group recovered or decreased which better than that in the control group.[Conclusion]Reduced glutathione is effective and safe for tsutsugamusshi disease complicated with toxic hepatitis.
