Surgical treatment of simple varicose of great saphenous vein combined with superficial thrombophlebitis

Objective To investigate the clinical curative effect of surgical treatment combined with preoperative and postoperative adjuvant therapy in treatment of simple varicose of great saphenous vein combined with superficial thrombophlebitis.Methods Thirty-three lower extremities belonged to 28 cases of patients with simple varicose of great saphenous vein combined with superficial thrombophlebitis were treated with great saphenous vein high ligation and stripping combined with preoperative and postoperative adjuvant therapy in our hospital from March 2009 to March 2012,and the treatment effect were observed.Results All the 28 patients were followed for 2 months to one year after operation.During follow-up period,varicose of great saphenous vein and superficial thrombophlebitis were cured without recurrence in 26 cases,accounted for 92.86%.Superficial thrombophlebitis recurred in 2 cases,accounted for 7.14%,but all of them had been cured by conservative treatment.There was no recurrence of varicose veins,no deepvenous thrombosis and no death in patients during follow-up period.Conclusion Great saphenous vein high ligation and stripping combined with preoperative and postoperative adjuvant therapy is effective and reliable for the patients with great saphenous vein combined with superficial thrombophlebitis.It can earlier control the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism caused by shallow vein thrombus spread.
