Abstract
Bananas seedling leaves were sprayed by 0.6 mmol/L salicylic acid(SA),then in cold storage at 8℃ for 5 d.The effects of SA on resistance of banana seedling to chilling injury were studied.The results showed that pretreatment with 0.6mmol/L SA reduced the contents of MDA and hydrogen peroxide,and the relative ratio of electrolyte,retarded the decreasing of soluble protein,increased the content of proline and the activities of POD and CAT in banana seedling leaves.It indicated that SA could increase the cold tolerance of banana seedling,which was mainly achieved by means of enhancing the anti-oxidative enzyme activities,inhibiting the accumulation of reactive oxygen and decreasing the injury of membranes under cold stress.
