Abstract

Objective To observe the rate of occurrence of shallow anterior chamber after the compound trabeculectomy and routine trabeculectomy.MethodsThe 120 cases(142eyes) with glaucoma were divided into tow groups in random,60 cases(74 eyes) in study group(group A) underwent the compound trabeculectomy while 60 cases(68 eyes)(incontrol) group(group B) underwent routine trabeculectomy, the rate of occurrence of postoperative shallow anterior chamber and intraocular pressure between two groups were compared. ResultsPostoperative shallow anterior chamber:there were 5 eyes in groupA(6.8%) while 24 eyes in group B(32.43%),the statistic difference was significant(P(0.05)). ConclusionThe compound trabeculectomy could effectively prevent the postoperative shallow anterior chamber and elevate the rates of surgical success.
