Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between the nonalcoholic fatty liver and insulin resistance in the elderly. Methods A total of 112 elderly patients in our hospital from September 2008 to October 2012 were divided into two groups: NAFLD group( n =52) and non- NAFLD group( n = 60). The age, sex, body mass index( BMI),weight hip ratio( WHR),triglycerides( TG),total cholesterol( TC),C reactive protein( CRP),high density lipoprotein- cholesterol( HDL-C),low density lipoprotein- cholesterol( LDL-C),alanine aminotransferase( ALT),creatinine( Cr),fasting plasma glucose( FPG),fasting insuline( FINS) and homeostasis model of assessment for insulin resistence index( HOMA-IR) were compared between two groups, and logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors of NAFLD. Results BMI,WHR,TG,ALT,FPG,FINS,HOMA-IR were significantly higher in NAFLD group than in control group( P 0. 05). The Logistic regression analysis showed that BMI,WHR,TG and HOMA-IR were the independent factors of NAFLD. Conclusion Obesity, higher TG and insulin resistance were the independent risk factors of NAFLD.
