Zhang De-ying and His A History of Anicent Chinese Literature

A History of Ancient Chinese Literature,written by Zhang De-ying,is the first work on ancient Chinese literature by the scholar whose native place is Guangdong Province.It is a coursebook written under the directions of Regius Rules of Giant School and Regius Rules of Peking Giant School,provided with the features of officially orthodoxy education.Meanwhile,it reveals to the utmost the author's view on literature and literary history,which shows the general structure of recognition and theoretic depth in the early writing of Chinese literary history.It puts forward that Zhang's work should be re-evaluated on the level of the studies of Chinese literary history.
