A Crux in the Researches of Modern Chinese Literary History

The three works on modern Chinese literary history published in the Contemporary period of China all include works written by scholars in Taiwan,Hong kong and Aomen on modern Chinese literary history.However,all the three works have not mentioned The History of Modern Chinese Novel written by Mr.Xia Zhiqing,a Chinese American,which becomes a crux in the researches of modern Chinese literary history.The work by Xia Zhiqing,as the first book in this field,laid the foundation for new and more scientific studies in modern Chinese literary history.Therefore only after we include Xia Zhiqing's work in this domain,could the discipline of modern Chinese literature be regarded as going toward maturity.
