Abstract

Objective:To disuss the clinical therapeutic effect and value of early treatment for ruperured intracranial aneurysms with the Guglielmi detachable coils(GDC).Methods:52 patients with 55 intracranial aneurysms were treated emergently with GDC.Results:52 patients with 55 aneurysms were successfully embolized with GDC.32 cases were achieved complete emboliaztion(95.0 %),20 with 80.0 %~95.0 % embolization and 3 with80.0 %.2 aneurysms ruptured during the embolization one cured another died.3 patients had cerebral infarction and had permannent slight monoplegia.A small part of GDC was kept staying the parent artery in two cases, but no complication.Three recurring cases were cured by the second GDC embolization.Conclution:Early treatment for intracranial aneurysms with GDC is a safe, reliable and effective method.
