Abstract
The geotechnical engineering finite element analysis software,PLAXIS2D,has been widely used for numerical simulation in foundation pit excavations.However,few literatures had made a detail analysis on applicability of the software PLAXIS2D used for foundation pit excavations at present.In view of this,three actual foundation pit excavation engineerings were simulated by PLAXIS2D.By comparison of computing results and measured ones,applicability of PLAXIS2D has been investigated.Further,the application conditions of PLAXIS2D used for foundation pit excavation engineerings have been discussed.The conclusion can provide some references for the proper use of PLAXIS2D in foundation pit excavations.
