Abstract

Objective: To observe the application of K2O-Al2O3-SiO2 system dental glass ceramic inlays on class Ⅴ cavities in some cases. Methods: Five patients with class Ⅴ defects were treated according to their symptoms. All the defects were restored using K2O-Al2O3-SiO2 system dental glass ceramic inlays and VariolinkⅡcomposite luting cement after the endodontic and periodontic symptoms disappeared. All the restorations were followed up between 6 and 12 months. Results: There were no endodontic and periodontic abnormalities,no secondary caries and no dropping of prostheses were found in the follow-up.Conclusion: Application of K2O-Al2O3-SiO2 system dental glass ceramic inlays on class Ⅴ cavity in clinical practice was satisfatory in a short period.
