Determination of Acetic Acid,Propionic Acid and Butyric Acid Concentration in the River Water Sample by Ion- Chromatography

Abstract

IC method for determination of acetic acid,propionic acid and butyric acid concentration of the river water sample was built up in this research.These experiments was carried out under the follow conditions,i.e.IonPac AS11-HC anion separation column,5mM NaOH eluent,and the 1.0mL /min flow rate.The research results showed that miminum detection limits of the method for Acetic acid,propionic acid and butyric acid was 0.258,0.294,0.374mg /L by the peak height,or 0.258,0.294,0.374mg /L by the peak area respectively.The RSD of retention time,peak height and peak area of acetic acid,propionic acid and butyric acid was 0.03% ~ 3.92%.River water samples testing by this above mentioned method showed that the recovery of acetic acid,propionic acid and butyric acid in these samples was 99.6% ~ 107.6%.
