Abstract
Objective To explore the application of the scleral cryotherapy under operation microscope during retinal detachment surgery.(Methods)Twenty-six consecutive cases of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment were enrolled in this study. All cases modified retinal detachment surgery observed straightly through microscope.First buckling and/or circling were performed, then retinal cryopexy sclera were done under surgical microscope.Furthermore the location of the retinal holes were exmined under microscope by indenting silicon buckling. Results Twenty-three cases got complete retinal reattachment, recurrent retinal detachment occurred in three eyes. Conclusions The application of cryotherapy surgery under the microscope is easy and effective.
