Abstract

The different perspectives in science popularization(SP)at three stages and levels are summarized and the loosely corresponding relationship reads as follows:traditional science popularization/government;public understanding of science(PUC)/scientific community;science communication(SC)catering to the public/individual citizen.The relevant communication models are outlined and some tenets of science communication are discussed.
