Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical significance of changes of serum CA199,TGF-β1 and CA125 levels in patients with hepatic cirrhosis. Methods Serum CA199,CA125 (with RIA)and TGF-β1 (with ELISA) levels were measured in 64 patients (31 patients ascites,33 patients no ascites) with hepatic cirrhosis and 35 controls. Results In patients with hepatic cirrhosis especially in the patients developing ascites, the serum CA199,TGF-β1 and CA125 levels were signifi cantly higher than those in the controls (P0.01). Conclusions Determination of serum CA199,TGF-β1 and CA125 levels in patients with hepatic cirrhosis is of help for assessment of the severity of diseases as well as outcome prediction.
