Abstract

Gr (germination rate,Gr),Gi (germination index,Gi) and Vi (vigor index,Vi) of salt-tolerant wheat seeds (DK961) and salt-sensitive wheat seeds (LM15) decreased significantly under salt stress, and the degree of LM15 was higher than that of DK961.Exogenous 100 mg/L GA_3,1×10~(-7) mol/L ABA and (0.1%) Ca(NO_3)_2 can ameliorate the inhibition of salinity on wheat seed germination, and the ameliorative effects of exogenous GA_3、ABA,and Ca(NO_3)_2 on germination of LM15 were much better than those on germination of DK961.Under salt stress,GA_(1+3) content and α-amylase activity of wheat seeds treated with exogenous GA_3,ABA and Ca(NO_3)_2 were higher than those of the seeds treated only with NaCl,which relieved the inhibition of NaCl stress on the seed germination. The results suggested that inhibition of salinity on wheat germination was mainly due to the decrease of GA_(1+3) content and α-amylase activity.
