Clinical observation of phacoemu lsification and intraocular lens implant ation in treatment of complicated cataract induced by uveitis

Objective:To est imate the therapeutic effect of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens(IOL)implantation in cataract with uveitis.Methods:42 eyes of 38 patients with secondary cataract after uveitis underwent phacoemulsification accompanied by intraocular lens implantation.In them,4 eyes did trabeculectomy and 3 eyes did peripheral iridectomy.Results:Visual acuity improved in 39 eyes(92 86%).The visual acuity at postoperative 6 months were ≥0 5 in 33 eyes(78 57%),3 eyes had 0 3 0 5(7 14%),4 eyes had 0 1 0 3(9 52%),2 eyes had less than 0 1(4 76%).Conclusion:After cataract with uveitis was treated by phacoemulsification,there was little inflammatory reaction and the visual was satisfactory.
