Abstract
The microwave assisted extraction of polyphenol from pomegranate peel was studied in the paper.Single-factor and orthogonal experiments were used to study the extraction rate of pomegranate polyphenols in different conditions. The Single-factor experiments showed that extraction rate of polyphenol was influenced significantly by extraction solvent volume fraction of ethanol, microwave power, extraction time, and solid-liquid ratio. The optimal extraction process identified by orthogonal experiments was as follows: 50%(volume) of ethanol as solvent,300 W of microwave power,120s of extraction time and 1∶35(m∶V) of liquid ratio.Under this optimized condition, the extraction rate of polyphenol was 21.41%.
