Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage( PTCD) for treatment of malignant obstructive jaundice with metallic stent. Methods 19 patients with malignant t biliary obstruction were treated by the were treated by PTCD with metallic stent. Result The technical successful rate was 100%,Before surgery, total serum bilirubin level was at( 228.9 ±30. 2) μmol/L.2 weeks after surgery, total serum bilirubin level was down to( 167.4 ±42. 1) μmol/L( P 0. 05). There were8 patients with complication after surgery. There were 2 cases with biliary tract bleeding,5 cases with biliary tract infection,1case with stent blocking and 1case with bile leaking. All the cases were controled by effective clinical treatment. Conclusions Treating obstructive jaundice with PTCD and metallic stent is safety and effective and it is a palliative therapy for treating malignant obstructive jaundice.
