Abstract
Objective: To compare the plantar acupuncture combined with acupuncture according to staging and differentiation of symptoms and point selection with conventional treatment on insomnia,in order to identify the best acupuncture treatment. Methods: 83 patients with insomnia were allocated randomly. The treatment group(the plantar acupuncture group) had 42 cases and a control group(conventional acupuncture group) had 41 cases, then to observe the clinical efficacy of the two groups. Results: After two courses of treatment,in the total effective rate the treatment group was 97.62%,while in the total efficacy rate was the control group 85.37%.There were statistically significant differences in the marked efficacy rate and the total efficacy rate between the two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion: Treating insomnia by plantar acupuncture combined with differentiated point selection has a good healing effect.
