Abstract

After Bei Wei dynasty, there had be an antagonistic situation between Xi Wei and Dong Wei for a long time. Both of them tried to found their respective cultural base according to area history. YU Xin, the most important writer of Xi Wei, collected and quoted many historic material about Changan city, the capital of Zhou Ch'in and Han dynasty, in his poetry. In Dong Wei kingdom, poets looked Luoyang city as their cultural cradle, and succeeded to Wei Jin tradition. After Sui dynasty was founded, poets from Dong Wei began to identify with Changan regime and cultural tradition, even though they showed their grieves for Dong Wei in their poetry. This had a great influence on their artistic mentality.
