Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the value of cine segment technique to reducing radiation dose in abdominal CT examination.Materials and Methods:38 patients performed abdominal CT scans were randomly divided into two groups according to the order of visiting the doctors.20 patients in Group A underwent examination of spiral scans with 120 kV,Smart-mA and Noise Index=8;while in group B,18 patients underwent examination by cine segment scan with 120 kV,Smart-mA,Noise Index=8.Patients in both group received plain scans and enhenced scan respectively and the image quality scores, noise levels and radiation dose in both groups were compared. Results:There were no significant differences between the arterial and venous phase images quality scores, and no differences between image quality and noise levels in both groups in plain scans(P0.05);The noise lekets were significat qifferences imlosre grous wlien enlienied(P0.01).About 47% of the radiation dose was reduced in Group B than in Group A,which had statistical different(P0.01).Conclusion:Cine segment scanning can not only guarantee the image qualities but effectively reduce the radiation dose in abdominal CT examinations.
